Integrated Software Solution
Our stepper motor drive boards are more than just the hardware circuitry itself! It is the unique combination of software and hardware that provides added value for the customer.
The hardware is developed to support the most commonly used stepper motors on the market. The software is developed with two purposes in mind. Naturally, the user should never ever need to bother about stepping sequences or communication protocols. All this is taken care of by the OLTOM software. The user does not need to bother with low level programming, and can focus on the application instead.
One of the two software functions is the driver that takes care of all communication issues. Thus, the user only needs to call simple functions to get the motors running. This means that you can easily integrate the stepper motors of your choice with your software.
All of the most common programming environments are supported, including systems like LabVIEW from National Instruments, and Microsoft .NET. For example, the software driver actually can be integrated in a program such as a Microsoft Excel macro. Thus it is possible to control the motors from Excel or any other COM or .NET capable program. Naturally we also provide a Linux version of the driver. Programming examples can be downloaded from the support section on our web site.

The other function our software engineers have provided is direct and immediate motor control, without any programming or development.
Not only do you get a highly versatile software driver, but you also get the software to immediately start using the motors. No programming skills are necessary!
The software has a very nice and intuitive graphical interface and can be used to immediately control the stepper motors, or to make up whole sequences to be saved and played again and again. Thus automation is achieved without any fuss!
In other words, you can manually control the motors, and see that every motion step is accurate. If everything looks good, for each motion or command you just press a button in the program to save the motor movement or command. Repeat the testing and saving of motions again and again, and you very easily create a motion pattern. Simply by pressing another button this motion pattern will be repeated, indefinitely if so desired.
