Easy to Use Software!
The OLTOM PWM stepper motor cards contain both driver and control logic and are very easy to program. An additional advantage is that the cards are software compatible: The same control programs can be used for any card model with little or no change.
Bundled Software
We believe that stepper motors should be easy to use! Therefore every card is delivered with driver software that provides the ability to get started controlling motors and making sequences at once. You also get drivers for integrating PWM-controllers with your own system.
- SMCP LE for Windows
- The PWM Stepper Motor Control Program provides a powerful, yet easy to use, tool for programming systems. It consists of a 32-bit Windows program with menus and widgets for most sequence and PWM commands. Also, sequences can be created automatically, edited by hand, executed, and stored in files. Read the the manual for more information. The only limitation in the LE edition is that it can only control one card with up to two motors for PWM3, or one motor for PWM4.
- Card Driver DLL for Windows and Linux
- With the purchase of any card you get a free DLL and programming API, ideal for embedded projects. The DLL provides easy programming of the OLTOM cards, for developing your own applications. It can also be used to script stepper motor programming from other environments suchs as Perl and Python. GNU/Linux GLIBC and Microsoft Windows Win32, .NET and COM versions are provided. The API is the same on all platforms for cross-platform compatibility and code portability. The DLL is directly usable from almost all programming environments that are able to call DLLs with standard calling conventions. Most other programming environments and language can be used through native call interfaces. See the documentation example in the support section for more information.
PWM LabVIEW Interface- A VI interface for LabVIEW allowing easy control of motors and I/O from LabVIEW
is included with the Card Driver DLL.

The VI interface is tested and supported only on Microsoft Windows, LabVIEW
9 and later, but may work in other versions.

For easier development and quicker time to market, use one of our application enablers.
The software options combines the ability to directly control several motors with the ability to program motor sequences for all supported motor and routing functions.
Any programmed sequence can be saved to a file. Reusing a sequence is simple: Just open the file!

- Upcoming: Full LabVIEW Application!
- Soon a full LabVIEW VI application allowing direct use and programming of motors with no extra design or programming will be available. The application is based on the existing VI-interface, which also will be available for customers requiring detailed control.
